South Water Caye
South Water Caye is about 6 miles away from Hopkins, Belize. This 15 acre island sits right on top of the barrier reef, making it a popular stop on fishing, snorkeling
and diving
tours.
Because the island is located in the South Water Caye Marine Reserve a boat may come by to collect the $5 USD per day fee (which may be included in your tour cost).
This island is home to 2 resorts: Pelican Beach Resort and Blue Marlin Beach Resort. It is also home to the IZE Belize marine biology field research station for students.
